We show herein that the photoelectrochemical behavior of a given semiconductor nanodot (p-CuSCN or n-TiO2) in an alumina template matrix, is remarkably different than that of its macro-sized counterpart. Three separate examples of this distinct difference in behavior are presented. It is shown how the photoresponse (e.g. photocurrent) may be amplified (from a low level typical of the signal emanating from a ?10-11 cm2 region corresponding to a semiconductor nanodot) by using a large number of electrically inter-connected Au nanowires to support the overlying semiconductor nanodots. The anomalous photoresponse of p-CuSCN nanodots in the template matrix was also numerically simulated by a simple parallel equivalent circuit consisting of a semiconductor and a photocapacitor. Possible practical application scenarios are finally presented for these nanostructures.

This study focuses on employing cuprous iodide (CuI) as a hole-transporting material (HTM) in fabricating highly efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The PSCs were made in air with either CuI or 2,2′,7,7′-Tetrakis[N,N-di(4-methoxyphenyl)amino]-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD) as HTMs. A simple and novel pressing method was employed for incorporating CuI powder layer between perovskite layer and Pt top-contact to fabricate devices with CuI, while spiro-OMeTAD was spin-coated between perovskite layer and thermally evaporated Au top-contact to fabricate devices with spiro-OMeTAD. Under illuminations of 100 mW/cm2 with an air mass (AM) 1.5 filter in air, the average short-circuit current density (JSC) of the CuI devices was over 24 mA/cm2, which is marginally higher than that of spiro-OMeTAD devices. Higher JSC of the CuI devices can be attributed to high hole-mobility of CuI that minimizes the electron-hole recombination. However, the average power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the CuI devices were lower than that of spiro-OMeTAD devices due to slightly lower open-circuit voltage (VOC) and fill factor (FF). This is probably due to surface roughness of CuI powder. However, optimized devices with solvent-free powder pressed CuI as HTM show a promising efficiency of over 8.0 % under illuminations of 1 sun (100 mW/cm2) with an air mass 1.5 filter in air, which is the highest among the reported efficiency values for PSCs fabricated in an open environment with CuI as HTM.

Electric Literature of 1111-67-7, As an important bridge between the micro and macro material world, chemistry is one of the main methods and means for humans to understand and transform the material world. In an article, once mentioned the application of Electric Literature of 1111-67-7, Name is Cuprous thiocyanate, molecular formula is CCuNS, is a conventional compound. this article was the specific content is as follows.

Abstract: Nanostructured inorganic?organic hybrid thin films of copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) and 4-(N,N-dimethylamino)-4?-(N?-methyl)stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) were electrochemically self-assembled by adding DAST into methanolic bath containing Cu2+ and SCN? ions. Loading of the stilbazolium organic chromophore (DAS+) increased linearly on increasing DAST concentration, accompanied with changes of the film morphology, crystallographic orientation of CuSCN and transition from beta- to alpha-CuSCN. At low DAST concentrations, transport limited passive occlusion of DAS+ has been suggested with its diffusion coefficient of 1.25 × 10?6 cm2 s?1 in methanol at 298 K, while the loading receives kinetic limitation by the surface chemical reaction to yield definitive hybrid structures, resulting in unique ?hair comb? shape beta-CuSCN-DAST and ?nano-platelets? shape alpha-CuSCN-DAST hybrid structures. Both the inorganic and organic components are interconnected and bi-continuous, as the loaded DAS+ could be totally extracted by dimethylacetamide to leave porous skeleton of crystalline CuSCN, making them highly interesting for device applications. The invention provides a novel process for producing a 3,5-difluoroaniline compound by reacting a 2-halo-4,6-difluoroaniline with a diazotizing agent in the presence of a reducing agent to form a diazonium salt. Build-up of potentially dangerous diazonium salt is avoided by reducing the diazonium salt with the reducing agent, to form a 1-halo-3,5-difluorobenzene, contemporaneously with the diazotization reaction. The 1-halo-3,5-difluorobenzene is then aminated.

Ionic liquids (ILs) coupled with Ag+ or Cu+ salts to form a new kind of reactive absorbent have been studied to separate light olefin from paraffin recently. In this work, we prepared two halogen-free alkylimidazolium thiocyanate ILs with cheaper cuprous thiocyanate, i.e., [Bmim]SCN-CuSCN and [Emim]SCN-CuSCN (Bmim, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium; Emim, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium) and investigated their absorption capability for propylene, propane and mixture of both at 1-7 bar and 298-318 K. The effects of operating parameter including cation nature, temperature, pressure, Cu+ concentration and reuse of absorbent were investigated. Propylene shows a chemical absorption while propane does a physical one, and increasing Cu+ concentration effectively improves the absorption capability for propylene and the selectivity of propylene/propane. [Bmim]SCN-CuSCN has higher absorption capability and selectivity for propylene than [Emim]SCN-CuSCN, e.g., [Bmim]SCN-CuSCN-1.5 M can absorb 0.12 mol of propylene per liter while 0.012 mol of propane per liter at 1 bar and 298 K, with a selectivity of 10, which is comparable to some other ILs-Ag+ salts and better than pure ILs. Such absorbents can be regenerated through temperature and pressure swing without remarkable activity loss. This work shows that alkylimidazolium thiocyanate ILs with Cu+ salts are promising reactive absorbents to separate propylene from propane.

Epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7-y (YBCO) films of 120-550 nm thickness have been prepared by fluorine-free metalorganic deposition using a metal acetylacetonate-based coating solution on yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) substrates with an evaporated CeO2 buffer layer. The YBCO films were highly (0 0 1)-oriented by X-ray diffraction theta-2theta scanning and phi{symbol} scanning. The YBCO films 120-400 nm in thickness demonstrated high critical current densities (Jc) with an average in excess of 3 MA/cm2 at 77 K using an inductive method. In particular, a 210-nm-thick film showed a Jc of 4.5 MA/cm2. These excellent properties are attributed to the high crystallinity, small in-plane fluctuation due to high epitaxy and to the microstructure free from grain boundaries in the YBCO films. Further increase of film thickness increased the fraction of irregularities, i.e., precipitates and micropores, in the film surfaces, resulting in lower Jc values.

Thirty-two aryl-substituted 2-benzothiazolamines have been tested for their ability to modulate sodium flux in rat cortical slices. A QSAR analysis, applied to these derivatives, showed a trend toward increasing potency as sodium flux inhibitors with increasing lipophilicity, decreasing size, and increasing electron withdrawal of the benzo ring substitutents. Additionally, 4- or 5-substitution of the benzo ring was found to decrease potency. The combination of increased lipophilicity, small size, and electron withdrawal severely limited which groups were tolerated on the benzo ring, thus suggesting that the optimal substitution patterns have been prepared within this series. Nine of these compounds were potent inhibitors of veratridine-induced sodium flux (NaFl). These nine compounds also proved to be anticonvulsant in the maximal electroshock (MES) assay. Fourteen additional 2-benzothiazolamines demonstrated activity in the MES screen, yet exhibited no activity in the NaFl assay. These derivatives may be interacting at the sodium channel in a manner not discernible by the flux paradigm, or they may be acting by an alternative mechanism in vivo.
